Photography During your Wedding Ceremony

The most important thing for us all to remember is that the photography should revolve around the wedding, not the other way around. That means that no matter what, the photography during your ceremony should be unobtrusive, respectful of the house rules, and geared to documentary reportage.

Plan your Arrival

Know when you will be arriving at the ceremony location and know exactly where you will go when you arrive. For example, as a bride you may wish to arrive at the back of the church and tuck into a quiet room to wait until the processional. Alternatively, you may wish to arrive by car, walk directly into the back of the church and directly process up the aisle. Either way, make sure I know the plan so that I can be in the right place at the right time.

Rules at the Ceremony Location

Find out what the rules for photographs are at the ceremony location. All venues are different, some restricting the location of photographs and even the times in which they are permitted.

Rain Plan

Make sure you discuss a “rain plan” with your venue just in case Mother Nature doesn’t see sunshine in the cards.
